Is Dog Food Good For Cats

There are many cats who act in a weird way at times. Especially it’s difficult to manage their behaviors if you have more than one pet like a dog or a cat. At times cats tend to eat dog food instead of their own food. You would not pay it much attention but this negligence can pose a serious health issues for your cat. Cat’s usually eat meat because contains protein and vitamins that is good for their health. Eating dog food will not provide your cat with enough protein and Vitamin B which is very essential for his or her body.

Once in a while if your cat attacks your dog’s food then there is nothing to worry about but if she insists on having only dog food then it is a serious problem and you need to change this habit to avoid your pet from falling ill. If cat’s body does not get enough protein and vitamin it can cause serious health problems. Whereas on other hand if a dog eats cat food it makes no difference instead they will put on weight but causes no serious health issues.

But it is advisable not to let your dog eat cat food as it will make them overweight which is not good for their health in long term. Getting overweight is not good for a dog as well as a cat so you have to make sure they eat what is appropriate for them. To stop them getting them into each other’s food try to feed them on different times or at different locations so that they do not get into each other’s food. If they continue to do the same then consult your veterinarian and discuss the problem. If possible take them for a visit to your pet so that they can get a health check up.

Silent Sufferers From Addiction: Pets

When it comes to addiction, humans are not the only ones who suffer. In fact, there are silent sufferers who often get the worse end of the deal when addiction is involved. Those silent sufferers are pets. Pet are often affected negatively when they are cared for my someone addicted to drugs or alcohol. Pets have no control over how or when they are fed, cared for, or loved. It’s sad state for the animals in the home of an addicted friend or family member. Below are some of the ways animals suffer at the hands of an addict.

- Malnutrition. An addict can’t feed an animal when he is preoccupied with his next “buzz.”

- Unclean/unsafe environments. Often the first thing to go with an addict is care for his physical surroundings. Unclean and unsafe environments are deadly for pets.

- Abandonment. Many pets are often abandoned when an addict realizes there is no longer time or money to properly care for their pet.

Unfortunately, for many pets the unthinkable happens. Pets often pass away because of improper care and poor nutrition. An animal is virtually helpless and depends on their owner for food, shelter, and love. An addict just can’t give a pet the attention they need.

More About Choosing the Right Breed of Dog

It is indeed a great idea if you have decided to buy a pet dog for your house. There could be no better companion for you in the house apart from your family members. But before actually taking the plunge it is very important to be clear about the breed of dog you are planning to buy. Remember breed is very important as far as dog is concerned. Which breed of dog you want to buy would almost entirely depend on your family style and your culture. If you are a family man, better sit down with your family, take them into confidence and then buy the dog. Never go for an unilateral decision because bringing up the dog has to be a joint effort and so the breed of the dog should be one which is liked by the entire family.  If your house is small and not the palatial type then you could afford a dog. But if it is a small, compact house then better settle for a smaller dog, because big dogs need lot of moving space and there is always the risk of tripping and falling over it. If you have children then it is better to go for dogs which are soft and sober in nature, because with the aggressive dogs you run the risk of your children being bitten by it.

Next you should go for a dog that is easy to train and maintain. Maintaining huge German Shepherds or other such massive dogs will be a big drain both on your resources and also your time. So maintaining smaller dogs would be a more sensible solution.

Remember choosing the right dog is akin to choosing the right groom or bride for marriage. Lot of thought has to be given because mistakes could prove costly both for the pet and also you. A New Breed of Work

Sometimes work can be fulfilling without the dollar signs or even the 401k. Frankly, that’s how it used to be! Let’s go back as far as biblical times, and you’d know that some jobs didn’t pay anything. The only pay you received for some of the work you did was recognition and favors or food to fill your belly. You didn’t get a weekly paycheck. But is that necessarily a bad thing?

That is the norm for animal breeders. It’s not about the money. It’s about the joy of breeding and bringing up high-quality animals to either be sold or worked in shows. The cost of breeding an animal far exceeds any profit a breeder might make: you have dental costs, vet costs, grooming costs, breeding permit costs, and food costs. It all adds up. Not to mention if you do in fact send your breed to shows, particularly if you breed dogs, there’s an extra cost to register your animal along with the added training expense. And who says your dog would win?

So why would anyone want to participate in the breeding business? If not for the money then . . .

No, there’s a greater benefit to breeding any animal. The heartwarming joy and ability to carry on the beauty of any breed of animal is the reward. Naturally, any income can be dealt with under the table, so you don’t pay any income taxes for being a breeder. If you do, though, then you can even claim your animals on your taxes, so long as your animals are solely used for breeding. The truth is every single year breeders actually lose money doing what they do. But they’re driven by it. To see a new life born, be it pups or kittens or whatever animal—that’s their payoff.

There are days when it would seem the world would be a better place if our work was more like that.
